Going to the sharty is like visiting a zoo. you can't change what the animals are doing, neither can you make immediately make sense out of some of the things they do, like eating their own shit, just for example. But, you can gaze at the lower beings you see, and learn, laugh and remember that they are always in their prison that they can never, ever leave, every thing they do is meaningless and serves no purpose.
That is to say, today's dox is forgotten tomorrow, and life goes on, because shartycucks (and some other imageboard users, to a lesser extent) are thoroughly disconnected from reality and can make little impact upon it. They're in an echo chamber of the soysphere, twitter, and discord; nothing else really matters outside of those spaces.
The sharty has been up for 5 years at this point, so we have a large data sample of how the real world has been affected by it, but the sharty itself obviously hasn't changed anything. Nobody really remembers anymore but 'jakking kicked off because of a discord user named Chad (or Gigachad, I forget) started forcing it on 4chan, and combined with the covid lockdowns it became much more popular. The sharty never really started anything or did anything unique of note, it just absorbed already existing cultures. In the beginning, that was mostly /qa culture, but obviously not anymore.
I get that there a lot of nusois but I still have to wrack my head and wonder why anyone still cares what the sharty is doing, ever, for any reason. Why would anyone even trek to a site that breaks into their LAN and runs obfuscated webassembly and javascript, a site that acts as a proxy for all kinds of rancid internet culture and doesn't invent new things, a site that fell from grace 3+ years ago and it's golden age was never archived to any meaningful extent, a site that must know all of your device specs and have your home IP before you are allowed to post (and even has a continuous history of leaking said IPs)? What do they gain from doing so?
